I’m a 19 year old student from Cumbria, UK. Currently nearing the end of my first year studying for a Computer Science degree at Lancaster university.
I’m generally curious about computers and technology in general. I usually have to have the latest gadget just to see what it’s like, much to the annoyance of my lovely girlfriend. I spend some of my free time on old PC games, particularly the open source TTD clone OpenTTD.
I’m a supporter of open source and free software, but at the same time I see the need for some software to be paid for. This probably puts me among the minority of people sitting on the fence, but then why do proprietary and open source software have to be mutually exclusive? ~Points at Google~.
Okay, this is getting to be more about my opinions than me. Oh well, my blog – I’ll rant away all I like. My biggest peeve is that after 40 years+ we still haven’t developed software and hardware that works properly together. Competition is good, but standards are better.
Right; enough soap box. Plenty of time for that in the articles. Please have a look around – I’m not stuck in one genre of post, I prefer to just comment on whatever pops into my head.
Why not follow me on Twitter
You can find me on most sites under the name Audigex or ironically as Jon on audigex.com as I don’t control or participate in that site much anymore
